The Victron Energy Venus gx system control module (mpn bpp900400100) provides intuitive operation and monitoring of all power systems based on Victron components. It is particularly suitable as the heart of an ess (Energy Storage System). In terms of functionality, the Venus gx is similar to the Color Control gx from Victron, but without a display and without a built-in modem, but much cheaper. It transmits all system data to the free vrm portal from Victron, from where you can monitor and administer your power system worldwide.
In addition to the power electronics, tank levels of up to 3 tanks can be monitored and visualized in the vrm portal. besides remote monitoring of the connected devices, remote configuration is also possible.
Remote Console on the vrm
Setup and monitoring is done via the remote console. Either via the vrm, via the built-in WiFi access point or via the local LAN/WiFi network.
Automatic genset start/stop
A highly flexible start/stop system. Use of charge, voltage, load and even more parameters. Specific settings for rest periods and optionally a monthly test run can be set.
Internet connection
The Venus gx can be connected to the Internet with an Ethernet cable and via Wi-Fi. The Venus gx does not have an internal cellular modem: there is no slot for a sim card. Use a commercially available gprs or 3 g router instead.
Tank level indicator inputs
The inputs for the tank level indicator are resistive: connect them to a resistive tank transmitter. Such tank transmitters are not offered by Victron. The ports of the tank level indicator can each be configured to work with European tank transmitters (0 - 180 ohms), or with US tank transmitters (240 - 30 ohms).
Data logging
If the system is connected to the internet, all data is sent to the vrm portal. If no internet connection is available, the Venus gx stores the data internally for up to 48 hours. By inserting a micro SD card or a usb stick, even more data can be stored. These files can be uploaded to the vrm portal or converted offline for analysis using the VictronConnect app.
