Victron SmartShunt IP65 500A/50mV battery monitor

The intelligent SmartShunt 500a from Victron Energy is a multifunctional battery motor that allows you to view all information via your cell phone or the VictronConnect app, giving you easy access to all monitored battery parameters. This includes the charge status, remaining runtime, historical data and much more. There is also the option of connecting the SmartShunt to a GX device, such as a Cerbo-GXor the Color Control GXand read out information from it. The connection is made via a VE.Direct cable. The waterproof battery monitor is also an excellent option for BMV battery monitoring. Especially in systems where battery monitoring is required but less cabling and clutter is desired.

Why a battery monitor?

Batteries are used in a variety of applications, mostly to store energy for future use. However, the actual amount of energy stored cannot be read directly from the battery. Factors such as undercharging or overcharging, deep discharging, excessive charging or discharging currents and high ambient temperatures can shorten the battery's service life. An advanced battery monitor enables these to be monitored and provides important feedback to you as the user. As a result, suitable measures can be taken if necessary to profitably extend the service life. The investment in the battery monitor therefore pays for itself quickly.

The VictronConnect app

The app is essential for setting up and monitoring! The following connection options are available:
