The balcony power plant complete systems from Offgridtec (MPN 016030) are an ideal way to generate part of your household's electricity on your own and significantly reduce your overall electricity expenses. The systems include two powerful 450W bifacial solar modules and a suitable micro-inverter, along with everything needed for connection to the home electrical system and, if necessary, for mounting on the balcony railing or roof. How does a balcony power plant work?
The Offgridtec balcony power plant is a compact solar system. It consists of a solar module and a matching Hoymiles micro-inverter for feeding into the home electrical system. The inverter is ideally attached directly to the substructure of the solar module and connected to the solar module via the solar connector. Through the battery connection of the inverter, the AC cable is connected and led directly to the suitable socket. Here, you can choose between connecting to the usual Schuko socket or to a Wieland feed socket, which is included in the delivery if selected.
To use the generated solar power in the home electrical system, no special settings are required. If local electricity sources are available, the devices in the household first use this before supplementing with grid electricity as needed.

Luxen Solar 450W Full Black Solar Module
The bifacial 450W Full Black Solar Module from the Luxneri N5 series by Luxen Solar (MPN LNDX-450ND) sets new standards in solar technology. It combines innovative technologies like the LECO N-TOPCon cell technology and a 96-cell half-layout to maximize efficiency. Additionally, it employs the SMBB half-cut cell technology, which enhances performance.
The monocrystalline module also impresses with excellent Anti-PID and low LID performance values, as well as high hotspot resistance. With its stylish full-black design, it is ideal for installation in solar systems on residential buildings, balcony power plants, and many other applications.

Hoymiles HMS-800W-2T Micro-Inverter with Integrated WiFi
The HMS-800W-2T (MPN: HMS-800W-2T) from Hoymiles is the perfect micro-inverter for a balcony power plant. In addition to the integrated WiFi module of industrial-grade quality, this compact lightweight (only 3.2kg) is excellently suited for solar power production with up to two solar panels with a power output of 320 to 540+W each. Like all other micro-inverters from Hoymiles, it is suitable for long operating hours and a wide range of PV module applications, as its start voltage is very low (only 22V) and the DC input voltage range (16-60V) is extremely broad.

Two MPP Trackers for Optimal Solar Yields
With the Maximum Power Point Tracker technology, the best possible yield of a solar system is generated. The MPPT determines the optimal ratio between irradiation intensity, temperature at the module, and solar cell type throughout the day. With the two MPP trackers in the HMS-800W-2T, the optimal working point for the two PV strings can be optimized separately. The two trackers operate independently, so shading on one string would not affect the other.
Simple Setup
PV systems with Hoymiles micro-inverters are very easy to plan. You do not need to install cumbersome traditional inverters. Each micro-inverter can be quickly mounted on the PV mounting frame or directly under the PV module. The PV module is connected directly on-site to the micro-inverter, eliminating the risk of persons being exposed to dangerously high DC voltages.

Balcony Power Plants in Germany
Currently, there is no law or regulation in Germany regarding the generation of solar electricity for pure self-consumption. The limit of maximum 800W AC PV output is a reserve value that can be fed into an existing socket circuit of a house according to the current VDE standard without overloading it. For independent circuits without additional load, no regulations are specified.
Every electrical installation should be carried out in accordance with VDE standards. However, the operation of a balcony power plant via the usual Schuko socket is fundamentally not prohibited. Reporting to the Federal Network Agency is mandatory. However, there have been no known cases of fines for unreported balcony power plants, nor insurmountable problems with network operators. Compliance and implementation of standards and obligations rest with the plant operator. Many technical and legal resources are already available on relevant websites.
