Advantages of the integrated heating mat
- Protection against damage during charging: LiFePO₄ cells must not be charged below 0 °C, otherwise lithium plating will occur. This leads to permanent damage to the battery and can drastically shorten its service life.
- Maintaining chargeability: The heating mat heats the cells to a safe temperature so that they can be charged even in cold temperatures.
- Optimizing performance: Cold reduces the usable capacity and power output of the battery. A heated battery can deliver more energy and work more efficiently.
- Use in cold environments: Especially in motorhomes, off-grid systems or in electric vehicles, the battery is often exposed to sub-zero temperatures. An integrated heating mat ensures that the battery also works in winter.

LiFePO4 technology
A LiFePO4 battery stands for "lithium iron phosphate battery" and is a type of lithium-ion battery. It is characterized by a specific chemical composition that uses lithium iron phosphate as the cathode material.
