Kemo m204 power controller 230 v, max. 16 a for heaters
The Kemo m204 (mpn m204) is a 230v power controller with max. 16a for heaters. It controls one additional interference suppression requirement for resistive loads such as heaters, etc. with pulses at zero crossing. The regulation is done by switching on and off pulse by pulse. Therefore only suitable for heaters (heating plates, welding wires, thermal welding machines, ovens, etc.). Not for motors and lamps, these would stutter or flash.

Circuit description
The module switches the heating on and off depending on the position of the potentiometer, always in phase zero crossing. The switching frequency is approx. 0.8 Hz. The length of the switch-on phases depends on the position of the control potentiometer. Controller position on the left: long switch-on phases and higher heating power.
Important installation instructions:
The module may heat up during operation, depending on the load. It must therefore be installed in a well-ventilated place. If the metal housing of the module heats up to more than 60°C, then it must either be screwed onto an additional heat sink or blown on with a small fan. In well ventilated normal operation up to 1000w this should not be necessary. The module may only be installed by a qualified person (e.g. electrician) in compliance with the VDE safety regulations. It is essential to ensure that the live contacts cannot be touched with fingers. The potentiometer is fully insulated at the operating axis and at the fastening thread. The installation must be carried out in such a way that only the insulated operating axis can be touched and not the electrical connection pins. In addition, a fuse must be connected upstream as shown in the drawing. The cables to the module must be secured against unintentional pulling out (strain relief).
