Hybrid inverter
Compared to conventional inverters, hybrid inverters offer the option of not only feeding the generated solar power into the grid, but also storing it in batteries. This means that the stored solar power can be used even when the sun is not shining. Another function of hybrid inverters is to optimize a household's electricity consumption by primarily using the solar power generated directly in the household before it is fed into the grid. This leads to a reduction in energy costs and less dependence on expensive grid electricity.
Operating modes - configurable according to system requirements
Online mode
Different operating modes can be set for optimum system integration of the sph inverter. When entered directly on the device, a priority mode can only be set for one time period. When using the online platform, up to three time periods can be set for the priority mode (a chargeable accessory is required to use this function).
- Load first:With the standard "Load first" mode, the connected loads (consumers) are supplied with energy first. As soon as the PV energy is sufficient for the load, the surplus energy is fed into the battery. If the battery is fully charged or none is connected, the remaining energy is fed into the grid.
- Battery first:In this mode, the inverter first fully charges the battery with the maximum possible solar power. If the PV power is not sufficient, the grid charging function can also be activated.
- Grid first:In this mode, the PV energy generated is fed into the grid first. The on and off time of the mode can be set here, as well as the power rate.
Backup mode:
If there is no longer any mains voltage at the device, e.g. due to a short-term power failure or blackout, the Growatt sph automatically switches to backup mode. This ensures that the AC output is supplied via the EPS-LOAD connection. The required energy is only supplied via the Solarasystem and the battery. If the PV system also fails, the battery secures the AC supply until it is discharged. If required, the automatic switch to this mode can also be deactivated.
Maximum Power Point Tracking
Maximum Power Point Tracking (mppt) technology is used to achieve the optimum yield in a Solarasystem. The MIC inverter has an mppt that sets the ideal ratio between voltage and current over the course of the day according to the solar radiation and the module temperature of the solar modules. Thanks to the wide MPPT voltage range, many solar modules can be connected, which enables efficient energy generation. This advantage is particularly evident when the sky is partly cloudy and the light intensity is constantly changing.
Intelligent load management
The inverter's integrated intelligent load management enables efficient and precise control of energy consumption. Electrical loads can be intelligently controlled and prioritized via the potential-free contact. This function makes it possible to automatically detect the energy demand and make optimum use of the available energy. Intelligent load management ensures optimum distribution of energy and thus contributes to efficient use. With intelligent load control via the dry contact, the inverter is able to optimize the energy flow and ensure efficient operation of your Solarasystem.
Growatt monitoring platform
The Growatt monitoring platform can be used with the optional Shine series accessories. This is available as a smartphone app (for iOS and Android) and as a web version. The Shine accessories must be purchased separately, use of the platform is free of charge. you can configure and monitor all your Growatt products via Shine, and it is also possible to display self-consumption and trends.
The following Shine options are compatible with the sph series:
- ShineWiFi-X
- ShineLink-X
- Shine4G-X
- ShineMaster
