The storage retrofit kit from Growattis ideal for expanding your existing Solarasystem. The system comprises 3-10 ark 2.5h-a1 modular, stackable high-voltage batteries (depending on selection), each with a nominal voltage of 51.2 V and a modern LiFePO4 battery type. The associated hvc 60050-a1 bms control unit and battery base for floor mounting complete the tower. The set also includes a spa 5000tl3 bh-up grid inverter incl. Shine Wifi-X control unit and a 3-phase TPM-C electricity meter, which is used for grid export limitation and self-consumption monitoring. A battery connection cable set is supplied to connect the battery tower to the inverter.

The Growatt ark 2.5h-a1 high-voltage battery (mpn ark-2.5h-a1) is a LiFePO4 storage battery with high cycle stability and a long service life. The modular, stackable concept enables flexible application for different scenarios and is easy to install. The battery offers excellent performance under high loads and is also suitable for outdoor installation with its ip65 protection. The soft start is used to prevent overvoltage in the system.

The ark battery system

Thanks to its modular concept, the ark system can be used flexibly and expanded as required. A battery tower can be installed with at least 2 and up to 10 storage modules; several towers can also be installed in one system. One bms control element and a connection cable set to the corresponding inverter are required per tower for operation. One battery base per tower is also required for ground installation. The ark high-voltage storage systems are compatible with the min- and mod-xh, as well as the three-phase sph and spa inverters. Depending on the inverter series, a different control unit, a different connection cable set and a different starting number of batteries are required. The ark-XH system starts with 2 batteries, while the ark-hv system starts with 3 batteries.

Flexible expansion: The ark battery system from Growatt offers a high degree of flexibility thanks to its expandable configuration options, which range from 5.12 kWh to 25.6 kWh. Installation and expansion of the system is simple and straightforward thanks to the modular design and the use of cables. Another innovation of the ark system is that, unlike other battery systems, no battery cabinet is required. Only a battery base is required for a stable stand.
Soft start to protect the system: The soft start mechanism is a protective function used with the Growatt battery to protect the system from overvoltage. When the battery is started or switched on, the power supply is gradually increased to protect the system from damage that could be caused by a sudden voltage spike. This ensures smooth and safe operation of the battery system.
Long cycle life: The Growatt ark battery modules are an ideal storage solution for photovoltaic systems due to their extremely high cycle life and the use of LiFePo4 cells. Regardless of whether it is a grid-connected or off-grid system, the Growatt storage system offers numerous advantages compared to conventional lead batteries and other lithium technologies.

The Growatt hvc-60050-a1 bms is a central monitoring and control unit that is part of the ark hv high-voltage battery system and supports communication with the Growatt spa and sph inverters. Up to 10 battery modules, each with a capacity of 2.56 kWh, can be connected to this bms. These modules can be connected in series to form a battery tower offering a total capacity of up to 25.64 kWh. Control parameters include state of charge (soc), grid voltage, current, cell voltage, cell temperature and PCBA temperature measurement. Intelligent load management

The inverter's integrated smart load control enables precise and efficient control of energy consumption. By using a potential-free contact, electrical loads can be controlled intelligently and prioritized. This function enables automatic detection of energy requirements and optimum use of the available energy. Smart load management ensures optimum distribution of energy and thus contributes to efficient use. With intelligent load control via the dry contact, the inverter is able to optimize the energy flow and ensure efficient operation of your Solarasystem.

Operating modes - configurable according to system requirements

Online mode: Users can set an appropriate priority mode in online mode according to the request while the spa is working. If the lcd and button settings are used, only one time period can be set. However, if the website settings are used, up to three time periods can be set for the priority mode

  • Load First: With an inverter in the spa system, the energy from the inverter is optimized for the load and then the battery is charged. surplus energy is exported to the grid. Without Inverter or if the energy is low, the battery discharges first for the load and the grid supplies the energy if the battery capacity is insufficient.
  • Battery First: When the spa series operates in this mode, the battery is charged first. This is suitable for periods of low power consumption. The switch-on and switch-off times of the mode and the end time of the battery charge level must be set. It is also possible to set a power that is lower than the maximum output power of the battery. With an inverter in the spa system, the energy from the inverter is first used for the battery, then for the load. The grid supplies the energy if the power of the inverter is not sufficient. Without Inverter or if its power is too low, the battery and the load are supplied by the mains.
  • Grid First: If the spa series is operating in grid-first mode, the energy is fed into the grid first. Time periods can be set when the power consumption is too high. The switch-on and switch-off times of the mode and the end time of the battery charge level must be set here. A power can be set that is lower than the maximum output power of the battery. With an inverter in the spa system, the battery discharges to the load. If the sum of inverter power and battery power is greater than the load, excess energy flows into the grid. Without Inverter or if its energy is too low, the battery discharges to the load and excess energy flows into the grid.

Backup mode: If the grid fails, the system switches to backup mode and the AC output is via the eps LOAD connection using all the energy from the battery. Note that the maximum output power of the spa in this mode is 10,000w and the load connected to the eps LOAD port should be less than 10,000w. Note: You can only set a time period for "Battery First" and "Grid First" on the lcd. If you want to set more than this, you have to do so via the shineserver.
Error mode: The spa`s intelligent control system continuously monitors and adjusts the status of the system. When the inverter detects unexpected events such as system error or machine error, the lcd display will show the error information and the led light will light up in error mode.
Programming mode: Programming mode indicates that the spa system is being updated. The power supply should not be interrupted during the process. The inverter will automatically log out when the update is complete and switch to another mode.
verification mode: Before the spa operates in normal mode, it will switch to self-check mode. If everything is OK then, the system will switch to normal mode. Otherwise, the error mode will respond.
Standby mode: If the system has no errors but the conditions are not met, the spa will remain in standby mode.
