Fothermo photovoltaic heating rod for hot water boiler
With the photovoltaic heating rod from Fothermo (mpn: hrod-550), photovoltaic retrofitting of your existing hot water boiler has never been easier. The innovative photovoltaic heating rod is simply screwed into the standard 1.5" thread, allowing you to use solar energy to heat water instead of conventional gas or oil heating systems. And the best thing about it: no registration is required as the heating rod does not feed into the power grid.
The advantages at a glance:
- Simple retrofitting
- Quick installation
- Patented MPP tracker with 99.9% efficiency
- Integrated reverse polarity protection
- No registration required
- Environmentally friendly
- Protection class: IP24
- Digital display
Retrofitting via Plug & Play
Installing the photovoltaic heating rod from fothermo is child's play. The photovoltaic heating rod is simply screwed into the standard 1.5" flange of your existing hot water tank and the PV modules are connected in parallel using simple plug-and-play MC4 connections. The heating process then starts immediately and as there is no complicated wiring and the voltage level is below 50 v, no electrician is required for installation. The heating elements can also be easily combined with the fothermo changeover unit (mpn: SwD-1600). The water in the boiler is then primarily heated from top to bottom, and excess energy is fed into the domestic grid via the micro PV inverter on the changeover unit.
hot water supply through solar power
Especially in summer, you can do without inefficient gas or oil heating systems for hot water preparation by retrofitting. Instead, you can enjoy an environmentally friendly shower heated by the sun and help reduce CO2 emissions. Thanks to the innovative MPP tracker, you can also be sure of 50% higher yields and get the maximum yield from your PV modules even in poor weather. The heating rod enables the connection of up to 2000 wp of photovoltaic power, while the maximum heating power is 500 w. This means that the hot water supply of a 2-person household can be almost completely covered in the summer months with a maximum water temperature of 65°C in drinking water systems or 85°C in decalcified heating systems.
