The Smart bms 12/200 from Victron Energy (mpn bms210055000) for smart Victron lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries is specifically designed for 12v systems with a 12v alternator. It combines a current limiter, battery coupler and battery monitor in a robust and compact solution. The Smart bms 12/200 monitors and protects each battery cell individually within the battery (or battery bank) and disconnects from the alternator, charging sources or DC loads in the event of low/high battery voltage or over temperature. The dedicated alternator connection provides current limiting and one-way traffic from the alternator to the battery, allowing alternators of any size (and starter batteries) to be safely connected to the Smart Lithium battery and protecting the starter battery from excessive discharge. The bms is equipped with Bluetooth for monitoring and configuration, a remote on / off port to turn off the bms (and the system) via a switch and a pre-alarm contact and give a warning signal u before the bms disconnects the connection between the battery and the system.
