N-TOPCon cell technology
The advanced TOPCon technology (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) is a further development of PERC technology and aims to increase the efficiency of solar cells. The solar modules are provided with an ultra-thin oxide layer and a subsequent conductive layer, which leads to a so-called passivated contact. As a result, the performance of the solar cell is improved in low light conditions, leading to higher annual energy production. Furthermore, the combination of TOPCon and bifacial technology can be used to further increase performance, as the cells can absorb 15% more reflected light.
Half-cell technology
In half-cell technology ("half-cut"), conventional silicon cells are cut in half using a laser. The resulting halves are then centrally connected in parallel, which leads to an increased output of the solar module by reducing resistance losses.
